MOTORIZATION

Why You Need Motorized Blinds or Shades

  • Safety – Motorized window treatments have no operating cords. There are no dangling cords for children or pets to get tangled up in so motorization eliminates the chance for injury. If there is furniture in front of the window, you no longer have to reach over or climb on the furniture to operate the shade, again eliminating the chance for injury.
  • Convenience – With motorization, you can operate multiple shades at once. Many houses have a lot of windows. In order to operate the shades or blinds manually, someone has to go up to each shade to raise or lower it. This requires going to each room, sometimes up and down stairs. Imagine how easy it would be to operate the shades with the touch of a button. Think about how much time it would save.
  • Accessibility – You don’t have to be able to reach the window to operate the shade. Motorization is great for the window behind the bathtub or the high windows in the entry or in the family room. Some people may not be able to grip a cord to raise a shade. With a motorized shade, the motor does the work.
  • Appearance – There are no cords to distract from the look of the window treatment. Motorized shades can also be programmed to stop at the same point, so the shades in a room all line up, giving a nice uniform look.
  • Ability to Automate – Imagine operating the lights and the curtains in your home with the press of a button or with your smart phone. Motorization can interface with home automation systems giving you the ability to set scenes easily.
  • Energy Savings – Timers and sun sensors are available to operate motorized shades to take advantage of the sun’s heat in the winter and to block the sun’s heat in the summer. All automatically.
  • Security – By using a timer, motorized window treatments can be programmed to make a home look occupied, even though the family living there is gone on vacation
